Flavour
Sour - Fruity - Tangy
Provenance
We source this sumac from near to Gaziantep in south west Turkey. We are working with a specialist importer of organic spices for our sumac so although we can't offer full traceability to farm level just yet, we can still guarantee the same consistently great tasting product.
Usage
In order to get the best out of our spices, we've included a QR code on the side of the glass jar label. This links back to our website with sumac cooking tips & recipe ideas. The cooking tips give you ideas on how to season your food in different ways with sumac. The recipe ideas focus around seasonal, vegetarian eating to help with a more balanced, sustainable diet.
Packaging
All of our spices are available to buy in both glass jars and refill pouches. Packaging is either recyclable or compostable. The refill pouches are the exact same quantity as the jars so you only have to buy the jar once, or not at all if you already have your own.
Design
The main benefit of buying our glass jars are the QR codes & artwork on the labels which is curated and designed by local Bristol artist & illustrator Hannah Grace. Our jars have 4 different designs, each representing a landscape from where our spices are sourced.
